A flange nut is a type of nut that has a wide flange on the bottom that acts as built in washer. This serves to distribute the pressure to a larger bearing surface of the nut over the part being secured, reducing the chance of damage to the part.
These flange nuts are Grade 2 (CP) titanium and are TRUE TITANIUM(TM). They are 44% lighter than stainless steel and completely corrosion free, even in saltwater. In industrial applications where corrosion is an issue, Grade 2 Titanium flange nuts perform well.
