These button head screws are TRUE TITANIUM(TM), specifically Ti-6Al-4V ELI that meets the ASTM F136 standard for medical use. Ti-6Al-4V ELI titanium is similar to Grade 5 titanium, but at a much higher purity level. The ELI stands for extra-low interstitials and interstitials just means impurties. Common interstitials are hydrogen, carbon, iron, nitrogen and oxygen.
These are high-strength titanium screws, and there is a trademarked Ring around the head so you can quickly see that the screw is high strength titanium, versus unalloyed titanium. With a minimum yield strength of 120,000 psi (828 Mpa), they are designed for structural applications in the medical field.
